Capcom’s “Ace Attorney” series is one of the long-running series from the company which focuses on criminal investigation and court hearings. It’s a game well-suited for the Nintendo DS and 3DS as it allows players to take advantage of the mic, touchscreen and dual screens of the system. New reports show that another title is in the works, which will be hitting the shelves of U.S. retailers as well.

Gematsu reports that “Ace Attorney 6” will be the next iteration of the title and it will make its way to the west. Confirmation of the report was first seen from the official Twitter account of the “Ace Attorney” series.

Gematsu states that the new title will include the option to play the game at a faster pace, but it is not yet clear what this could mean. Previous titles of the game included long texts which the players had to analyse for faults and inconsistencies; it is reportedly possible that such long texts could be shortened for quicker gameplay.

Other details on the game state Takeshi Yamazaki as director and Motohide Eshiro as producer. Little is known about the next chapter, but fans could expect more news in the following weeks.

The latest entry in the "Ace Attorney" series was a spin-off title with Japan’s Meiji period as a setting. The game titled “ Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodō Ryūnosuke no Bōken (aka The Great Ace Attorney )” was released only in Japan this summer. The series' protagonist, Phoenix Wright, was replaced by another character.

Phoenix Wright’s latest appearance in the mainline series was on “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-Dual Destinies,” which was released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013, and on iOS devices in 2014. The next chapter in the series will bring back Phoenix Wright yet again, as seen from the game’s Japanese logo seen above.
