Now that the nominees for the 84th Academy Awards are already announced, here are our best bets on who will win the coveted golden statue.

Awards season is fleeting all over the entertainment industry at the moment and fans are eager to find out winning buzz as early as now.

For the Best Actor in a Lead Role, many are leaning towards the win of George Clooney for 'The Ides of March,' but most movie buffs are rooting for Gary Oldman to nab the award for his performance in the spy thriller, 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.'

Another strong prediction is the win of Jean Dujardin for his work in 'The Artist,' another movie that gained much recognition at the recently-held Golden Globe awards.

For the Best Actress in the Leading role category, Glenn Close seems to be on the frontline thanks to her stellar acting in 'Albert Nobbs.' Not to be left behind is Michelle Williams for her impeccable acting as Marilyn Monroe in 'My Week with Marilyn.' Some critics are suggesting that this could be Williams' year for this well-deserved recognition.

Meanwhile, the young Rooney Mara also got nominated for her performance in David Lynch's American version of 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,' and critics have a 50/50 throw on whether Mara should take home the award that Natalie Portman nabbed last year.

The nominations became a big surprise when Jonah Hill's name popped for the category Best Actor in a Supporting role for the movie 'Moneyball,' in which Brad Pitt also got nominated for Best Actor. Many fans and critics are surprised that Ryan Gosling's name is nowhere to be found in any of the major categories, that's why Nick Nolte is the main bet for this award for his impressive acting in 'Warrior,'

As for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role, critics are saying Jessica Chastain's performance in 'The Help' will ensure the win. Other strong contenders are Octavia Spencer from the same movie, and Melissa McCarthy for the comedy 'The Bridesmaids'.

For the biggest award of the night, Best Picture, there are many thoughts on which one will take the trophy. 'The Descendants' and 'The Artist' are getting most of the fan votes, but 'The Help,' a movie adaptation starring Emma Stone, is most likely to win. The movie itself gained the most among all the nominated movies, doubling, and even tripling its revenue in less than a week after its premiere.

Other nominees for Best Picture include 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,' 'Hugo,' 'Midnight In Paris,' The Tree of Life,' Spielberg's 'War Horse,' and 'Moneyball'.

For best director, many are suggesting Martin Scorsese surely has the award down his hand with his incredible treatment for the movie 'Hugo.' Woody Allen might also be walking up the stage to receive his award for the quirky (and witty) romantic comedy, 'Midnight In Paris'.
