Lenovo recently launched the successor of its successful K3 Note with a major design overhaul. The enhanced overall user experience and new features makes this media centric, Amazon-exclusive device even more enticing.

Here are six things you need to know about the new Lenovo Vibe K4 Note before you prepare to buy the smartphone.

Build and design

The new device features a curved back panel with metal on both sides. The Vibe K4 Note is built out of polycarbonate and houses a fingerprint scanner at the back. This will allow users to unlock the device by just putting their finger over the sensor.

The handset is 9.5mm thick and weighs 158 grams. In the coming days, the company also plans to introduce back covers of different materials including wood and leather.

Display

The phone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which results in a pixel density of 403ppi (pixels per inch). The display is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

The company claims the device has a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Users can even play around with the colour balance settings to alter the colour reproduction rate.

Hardware and software

The Lenovo Vibe K4 Note is powered by 64 bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The phone will be shipped with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.

Running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI on top, the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note houses a massive 3,300mAh non-removable battery. The device might be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, reports The Times of India.

Camera and connectivity

As far as camera specs are concerned, the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note packs a 13-megapixel ISOCELL rear-facing primary camera along with a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. Lenovo The dual SIM device supports 4G on both SIM card slots.

Audio

Marketed as a media centric device, Lenovo claims the Vibe K4 Note is the world’s first smartphone to offer Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. The device hosts two 5W Dolby Atmos surround sound speakers at the front.

Theatre Max – the VR Experience

As part of a unique marketing strategy, Lenovo has also bundled a Virtual Reality (VR) headset with the device. But you have to spend separately to get the VR bundle handset.
