Shoppers wanting to take home a phablet on Black Friday or during the Christmas 2014 holiday rush should look no further - Apple's supersized iPhone 6 Plus is the ultimate and must-have choice.

And below are the six compelling reasons to grab the first iPhone jumbo phone:

Premium metal build

The 6 Plus is all sexed up mainly on its upsized display panel at 5.5-inch but Apple also made sure that the handset will retain the iDevice signature of premium and solid build. The 6 Plus housing is a mixture of glass and mostly metal chassis that remain in line with Apple's reputation of producing only upscale products.

Ultra slim profile

Top-class engineering rendered the iPhone 6 Plus the thinnest in its class. The device was trimmed down to 7.1mm that made its chief rival, the Galaxy Note 4, thick to the look and feel.

Brighter display

In tussling with the Note 4, the iPhone 6 Plus is pitting Apple's Retina panel against the latest, and the best so far, serving of Samsung's AMOLED display. Reviewers, however, are saying that the Apple phablet has a brighter beam and resists glare, making it the better choice for outdoor use.

Unique one-hand feature

And to support the 6 Plus outdoor advantage over its rivals, Apple devised an easy way for users to navigate through the device in one hand. By tapping the Home button twice, the device interface slides down so users can conveniently key in numbers and letters for instance. Then it returns to the normal state once the typing task is completed.

Wi-Fi calling

Apple partnered with T-Mobile in rolling out Wi-Fi calling with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus releases. The service is reliable back up when cellular signal is hard to come, ensuring that users stay connected as long as a Wi-Fi router is around.

Extended battery life

One killer feature promised by Apple with the latest iPhone and iPad model is better battery life that the company said is made possible by the tight integration between the 64-bit A8 chip and iOS 8, which like its predecessor is up to speed with the 64-bit mobile computing standard.

The iPhone 6 Plus is testament to that Apple vow and as attested by many reviewers, the bigger iPhone 6 stays alive for more than a day even on moderate to extensive usage.

The 2014 Black Friday kicks off November 28 and after that Apple fans got all the time to shop for the iPhone 6 Plus in the remaining months of the holiday quarter.
