While some women hide their lavish splurges from their husbands, The Duchess of Cambridge need not to do that. With almost $54,000 worth of couture she spent since the beginning of this year, neither Kate Middleton nor the Duke of Cambridge will take care of the bill.

Kate Middleton's father-in-law, Prince Charles, will meet the cost of the $54,000 worth of wardrobe since the year began. The Prince will get the means to pay it from his Household budget. But if their status and wealth is considered, it's actually a modest amount compared to what Hollywood actors or actresses spend on their clothes.

Since Kate Middleton is very keen in recycling her designer brand outfits, it will prevent the final bill to be blown up. Prince Charles has been generous enough to agree to pay for whatever The Duchess of Cambridge wear as long as it's "work-related." Charles is said to be extremely fond of his daughter-in-law and likes to call her "Kate."

And this week, the public will have an insight of Kate's cost as Prince Charles will open his accounts for the first time since the Duchess has joined the Royal Family.

Senior royals sources say that The Duchess of Cambridge chooses her clothes for the occasion and will continue wearing more affordable clothes, including the ones she already own. And while most celebrity clients get a discount in return for wearing some designer brands, Kate has instructed her staff to pay the original price.
