You will come across several annoying Facebook posts that will urge you to unfollow someone immediately. You also have to learn and avoid the same mistakes to maintain your audience and keep your social media presence. Here are five posts that will make people unfollow you on the social media site.

1. Frequent useless updates

It is recommended to maintain online presence so people constantly feel your presence on the social media site. However, do not make the mistake of posting to frequently, especially if you do not have a lot of relevant information to share. Some people post several times each hour about what they are eating, how they feel or where they are going, which can be annoying for many. Flooding other people's threads on Facebook may cause them to unfollow you, based on an article by Pardot.com.

2. Frequent selfies

It is ordinary to take selfies every once in a while, but shooting yourself in different angles then posting these online several times each day are among the most annoying Facebook posts. People will outright unfollow or even unfriend you if you flood their wall with your face.

3. Selling

Facebook is supposed to be a place where you communicate with friends and contacts without being harassed by sellers. Stop selling products too often especially when using a personal page. Instead, come up with a commercial or business page where you can post all photos and info regarding your offers and products.

Fast Company notes that social media is actually a form of conversation and falls right smack in the age where nobody really wants to speak face-to-face -- and nobody wants to be in a conversation with a "door-to-door salesman."

4. Tagging

Stop tagging people all the time. You should have the decency of at least waiting for them to tag themselves in group photos. Some people do not appreciate you tagging them in compromising angles. Your contacts might unfollow or unfriend you completely.

5. Game invites

You may have a bad habit of inviting everyone to join you in playing a game on Facebook. It is one of the most intrusive and annoying Facebook posts for many users. You might be unfollowed because of this mistake.

Avoid these annoying Facebook posts to keep people close to you and maintain your audience for the long term.
