Asian shares edged up on Friday, and the euro held most of the previous session's gains, as nervous investors took comfort from plans for coordinated action by major central banks to stabilise markets if Sunday's election in Greece results in turmoil. Workaholics spend countless hours in the office and even bring their work at home. They sleep less, eat less and socialize less than the average person. They also cannot live without a few things.

Here are five things that seem to be always at their side wherever they go.

1. Caffeine

Workaholics should always have a source of caffeine, may it be coffee or energy drinks. Primarily, they need caffeine to stay awake and stave off hunger. Sleeping and eating takes away several precious minutes that they could allocate for work so they would rather stay alert for a few more hours. In a study conducted at John Hopkins University, caffeine also boosts memory and concentration, helping workaholics meet their objectives more efficiently.

2. Watch

People who spend countless hours at work actually need a watch or clock to keep track of time. They like to meet specific objectives within a given timeframe to determine how close they are to accomplishing the main goal. They also tend to make a very rigid schedule to accommodate all the things they would do on a given day or 24-hour period.

3. Cellular phone

Workaholics usually have personnel or assistants who help in their cause such as a secretary or clerk. They would call these trusted individuals several times a day to get information as well as provide more instructions for given tasks.

4. Laptop or tablet

Individuals who spend a lot of time working need to stay connected to information, via the Internet and other relevant programs. They will generally store information and updated works in their mobile devices. Many workaholics today are technologically savvy, putting all their data and activities in a tablet or laptop so they can work anywhere.

5. A hobby

In a study supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, workaholics are prone to developing addictive behavior such as alcoholism, substance abuse and gambling. Workaholics need to find a healthy hobby as a form of leisure and to keep their mind off work every now and then. Having a hobby will help relieve mental and physical stress. They can engage in one or two hobbies which they can concentrate on, such as collecting or playing a sport.
