Just because your babies have sensitive skin doesn’t mean they need be bathed thoroughly. According to Dr. Sonia Badreshia-Bansal, you can use soap in needed areas only. This includes skin folds like the diaper area, armpits and thighs. Also, it’s advisable to use mild liquid cleansers only to avoid drying the skin and stinging the eyes.

Ordinary soaps and shampoos contain harsh chemicals that can damage your baby’s skin. You need to use the right products suited for your baby’s skincare needs. Use those which are labelled as tear-free or fragrance free as well as mild. Also apply lotion to keep your angel’s skin moisturized.

It’s common for most babies to have diaper rash. You can protect your child from the pain and discomfort of having a diaper rash by using a non-fragrant diaper. Also, change diapers regularly and when you do, be sure to wipe the area thoroughly using wipes. Allow the bottom to air-dry and sprinkle a little powder before putting a fresh diaper.

Don’t expose your baby to too much sun especially when going outdoors. Always have some kind of protection like a hat or an umbrella. It also helps to have your little one dressed in clothes with long sleeves or pants. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 on your baby’s skin.
