Children at a young age should learn various tasks and traits. However, child experts highly recommend that your child learn five basic traits that will help them become highly successful and independent later in life. Here are five key personalities that you can train your young one early.

1. Gratitude. Child Care Quarterly recommends that you teach your child gratitude so that they become emotionally mature early on. Model by saying “Thank you” to your child and other people in his presence. Teach your child how to appreciate the things that you have and be thankful for every little thing.

2. Optimism. A positive attitude will be carried by your child until his adult years, allowing him to handle stress better and overcome challenges. Teach your child how to develop optimism in everything he does by focusing on the good and not becoming disheartened by negative experiences.

3. Honesty. Independent reported that honesty at a young age will teach your child to be in touch with reality and even accept his limitations. Honesty will also attract goodwill and draw more people around him. Your child will learn how other people appreciate honest individuals so he can remain consistent with the good trait until he grows older.

4. Resilience. Similar to optimism, young children should be taught not to easily give up. Teach your child how to handle failure and not to give up easily. Resilience will make him a hardworking individual who realizes that there are rewards and benefits for people who succeed despite the odds.

5. Kindness. Your child will develop a personality that will attract other people around him. Teach your kid how to be kind and caring to others. Kindness will also bring out other good traits like helpfulness, respectfulness and sensitivity. Your child will be a good listener and communicator later on if you teach him how to be kind in his younger years.

There are more traits to educate your child but these five will ensure that he grows up to be the person you always aimed for him to be. The learning process will take years so be patient and have fun.
