4.7-Inch, 5.5-Inch iPhone 6 Models Confirmed with Similar Build, Cam Features & 300+ Screen Pixels on Release Date
The only difference between the 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 look is the screen size as freshly-leaked information on the device points to a strikingly similar external build on release date.
One look, one build in 2 iPhones
This emerges as MacRumors picked up a new set of images from Evasi0nJailbreak.com that supposedly depicted the next iPhone's back panel, specifically the larger model. The iPhone shell on the photos closely resembles an earlier leaked rear casing of the smaller edition, leaving the impression that Apple is bringing out two iPhones in different sizes but with nearly identical look.
Essentially, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6, as the pictures suggest, is but a scaled up rendition of the 4.7-inch make, said the same report.
Putting the two rear cases side by side, it's easily noticeable that the regular iPhone and its upsized version will share the same "thick antenna breaks, a rounded True Tone flash, a cutout for an embedded Apple logo, the camera and the microphone," MacRumors said on its report.
Also, the Apple-centric site appears convinced that the images are legitimate, observing that screw holes seen in the casing match with that of what was claimed as leaked logic board of the large-screen iPhone.
Protruding main camera
In another leaked detail, this time a screenshot of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 schematic, it was apparently revealed that the rear shooter for the next iPhone will rise a bit from the back cover. No other camera specifics were offered in the report, according to G4Games.
It can be assumed, however, the same physical camera feature will be found on the bigger iPhone - again in a scaled up implementation.
300+ pixels per inch on screen
As mentioned above, the two upcoming iPhones will take separate ways on screen sizes though a new report indicates that the devices will showcase in about the same range in terms of pixels per inch (ppi) flooding the screen.
According to 9to5Mac, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will likely sport a display panel that has 359.34ppi while the stretched 5.5-inch will be at 307.07ppi. It is alleged in the same report that Apple will deploy the two iPhones with a shared screen resolution of 1472 x 828, which explains the tighter ppi for the smaller screen.
These estimates, 9to5Mac said are based on the latest build of Xcode software development program recently issued by Apple. The tool somehow revealed the optimal screen resolution for the iOS 8 that will power the next-generation iPhone.
Countdown for the iPhone 6 release date is poised to start immediately after the device's grand unveiling on September 8 with the actual availability likely on early October, for the 4.7-inch, and December 2014, for the first Apple phablet.
