Tim Cahill doesn’t age with time. He just gets better. The highest goal scorer of Australia national football team is now 35, but his recent three goals in Dhaka proves that he is still capable of leaving a mark in 2018 World Cup if Ange Postecoglou's team can make it to the final.

Adelaide Oval is set to host an important World Cup qualifying match for the Socceroos to play in March. Even though this week’s match in Dhaka had a good result, the question remains whether Cahill will be able to appear in 2018 to spin magic for the Socceroos.

Cahill’s hat-trick against Bangladesh was his second for the Socceroos, 11 years after scoring the first one in 2004 against Fiji at the OFC Nations Cup. Mike Jedinak also scored a goal during the first half. Aaron Mooy was also remarkable with his three timely assists on the team’s four goals. Both Matt McKay and James Meredith put on stellar performances during the Dhaka match.

Following the victory over Bangladesh, Australia now sits at the top of Group B World Cup of Asian Football Confederation. Cahill currently is the most sought-after player in the team as he continues to soar with his strike rate. The Sydney native, who turns 36 next month, has so far scored nine goals for Socceroos in total 12 games this year, at the peak of his form ever since he hit the international field in 2004. With 20 goals scored in World Cup qualifying matches, Cahill is doing the right business to spark hopes for future.

Australia needs to be among the top four second-place finishers or win the current group to advance to the third stage in World Cup qualifiers. The Socceroos is set to contest in SA just before Port Adelaide organises St Kilda in the beginning of AFL season at Adelaide Oval.
