3 Reasons Why Kate Middleton Should Attend the Academy Awards [PHOTOS]
The Duchess of Cambridge, also known as the most famous personality in the world, might or might not attend the 84th Academy Awards. However, here are the reasons why Middleton should be in attendance in this year's biggest award-giving body.
1. Kate has already established a good relationship with Hollywood heavy-hitters.
When the royal couple visited Hollywood last year for their North American tour, the pair threw a charity gala called BAFTA for Brits, showcasing the UK's most-wanted up-and-comers in the industry. In the event, Middleton brushed shoulders with the likes of Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, and many more.
If the Royal Couple wishes to promote the local talent of their homeland to the billion dollar Hollywood industry, attending the Oscars will be the perfect platform for viewers to gain interest on London's new celebrities.
2. Kate can dress up... again.
The red carpet for the Academy Awards is considered to be one of the most important celebrity fashion parades. The Duchess is known to love her dresses (from her Alexander McQueen pieces to her Jenny Packham gowns), and the Oscars is the perfect event to showcase her fancy-yet-classic ensembles. Also, it is certain that many designers would fight for the chance to dress Middleton on this high-profile night.
3. Kate was present during the London premiere of Oscar-nominated movie, War Horse.
For the London premiere of Steven Spielbeg's 'War Horse,' the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the event, with Middleton donning a lace gown that made her shine brighter than any other celebrity who attended. The couple went to the affair to gain publicity for the Royal Couple's efforts to support a fund dedicated to war veterans.
It was even reported that Middleton broke into tears upon watching the film, with Spielberg's wife reaching a Kleenex to the crying Duchess. It seems fitting for Middleton to attend the Academy Awards and support the film that's vying for a Best Picture award.
