Many are comparing Lady Diana to the newest member of the Royal Family, Kate Middleton.

What others might overlook is the fact that the 30-year-old Duchess of Cambridge has already proven herself in a higher position that the late princess and here are the reasons why.

1. Kate Middleton has college education, Diana did not have one.

It was a public affair when the then-Prince William found romance in the halls of St. Andrews University with his flatmate, Kate Middleton. It was there that the two developed their love for each other while having their studies first on their minds. With a college degree to boot, Middleton is shaping to be a more intellectual and careful Royal than the late Diana.

2. Kate Middleton has been with Prince William for 8 years before marriage, while Diana was only with Charles for 8 months before tying the knot.

It is pretty obvious that Kate and William had a solid relationship before the Royal Wedding last April, with 8 years of being together. With this alone, it is safe to say that this marriage will withstand the test of time, unlike that of Diana and Charles'.

3. Kate has a sterling reputation and a healthy mindset.

Though it is early to say, Middleton seems to have a compact overall disposition than Diana's. She is mentally and emotionally fit, and is willing to take on responsibilities without negative issues surrounding her fame (depression, anxiety, eating disorders). Also, the paparazzi seem to be of no problem to her, being the new darling of the media after her first public speech.
