Buyers torn between the gigantic iPhone 6 Plus and the regular iPhone 6 will do better picking up the 5.5-inch variant over its 4.7-inch sibling this Cyber Monday and well into the 2014 Christmas shopping season.

Jay Yarow of Business Insider dubbed the jumbo-sized 6 Plus as the best iPhone ever made by Apple or at least the best iOS phone variant he'd used so far.

And Yarow insists his blooming love affair with the upsized device is based on compelling reasons briefly detailed below:

Amazing screen size

Big is better and in the 6 Plus case, this is quite true despite the minor trade-offs of first adjusting to the upgraded screen profile and its bigger footprint.

The stretched display panel, in fact, is not a problem at all as users would shortly realise actually lead to better mobile device experience. More screen real estate easily translates to better browsing in terms of navigation and viewing benefits.

The same applies with movie watching and gaming as Yarow likened the upsized 6 Plus to that of a television screen. Indeed, movies and games are best appreciated when the output is actually seen on larger screen monitors.

That's exactly the edge of the iPhone 6 Plus over the iPhone 6 - it's plain bigger and that alone makes it the better choice for Apple fans, Yarow explained.

Impressive battery life

The 6 Plus far exceeded expectations especially in the battery department. While usage habits normally dictates battery life, the bigger iPhone 6 can be relied upon to stay alive and kicking for more than a day of heavy mobile computing.

However, Yarow reminded that the 36 hours of energy juice he had extracted from the full-charged iPhone 6 Plus was partly due to a minor tweak. It helped that all his 6 Plus' notification alerts were muted down.

Regardless, Apple delivered on its promise that the next iPhone will highlight power and energy efficiency and the iPhone 6 Plus is a solid testament to that claim.

Cyber Monday and 2014 holiday deals

And the best time to grab the 6 Plus is starting this Cyber Monday and going into the holiday season this year. To lure in Christmas shoppers, retailers are more than willing to dangle promo deals that could see buyers enjoying discounts between $50 and $100 off the iPhone 6 Plus.

Even Apple is playing generous with its $50 gift cards that can be used on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus companion products and services.

All told, Yarow is pretty much convinced that the iPhone 6 Plus is the better deal compared to the iPhone 6.
