Roughly a year from now, the film world will be brimming with movies from all types of genres, including an anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and two highly anticipated sequels. In the first quarter of 2018 alone, “Black Panther,” “Pacific Rim 2: Uprising” and “Wreck-It-Ralph 2” will hit theatres.

Black Panther was first introduced into the MCU in “Captain America: Civil War.” In his own spinoff movie aptly entitled “Black Panther,” T’Challa must defend his land from being destroyed by enemies within and outside of his kingdom. As such, the audience will be introduced into the world of Wakanda, which houses unique culture and beliefs.

Chadwick Boseman will sport his Black Panther suit once again in the film, which will internationally debut on Feb. 16, 2018. He will star opposite Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B Jordan, Forest Whitaker and Martin Freeman.

Meanwhile, “Pacific Rim 2: Uprising” is scheduled for its international debut on Feb. 23, 2018. The film will take place seven years after the original film, during which the United States has kept up the Yaeger Project. A young construction worker from The Wall then decides to join the project and takes the destroyed Gypsy Danger and Lambert to battle the Kaijus.

In “Pacific Rim 2: Uprising,” Scott Eastwood, John Boyega and Lily Ji are directed by Steven S DeKnight. Guillermo del Toro is still on board, but has taken the role as producer instead.

In March 9, “Wreck-It-Ralph 2”’ will premiere internationally, thereby bringing some missed faces back to the big screen. The sequel takes six years after the original and will follow Ralph as he has an adventure around the internet data space. It is speculated that “Wreck-It-Ralph 2” may feature a cameo from Mario, as director Rich Moore has cited a good relationship with Nintendo.

John C Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Jack McBrayer reprise their roles as Ralph, Vanellope and Felix respectively. Moore admitted to Collider that production for “Wreck-It-Ralph 2” had been ongoing for two and a half years by the time of its announcement in June 2016.
