Although it’s uncertain when the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 will be released, persistent reports claim the laptop could be launched this month. But the betting is on this Apple laptop making it to the market early 2016.

Microsoft can take advantage of the delayed release of the MacBook Pro by better promoting its new and well-received Microsoft Surface Book, the company’s first-ever laptop that’s making waves because of its dynamic fulcrum hinge.

Here’s a comparison of the features on the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 and the Microsoft Surface Book.

Microsoft’s Surface Book has a bigger screen. In this case, it’s a 13.5-inch PixelSense Display with 3,000 x 2,000 resolution. The MacBook Pro 2016 should feature a 13-inch and 15-inch display with 2K resolution. And some rumors even claim a 4K resolution will be included on the new MacBooks.

In terms of processors, the MacBook pro will be powered by 6th gen Intel Gen Skylake chips. On the other hand, 6th gen Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors will power the Microsoft Surface Book. An Intel HD graphics and 520/NVIDIA GeForce GPU will be included.

Microsoft also competes against Apple in terms of storage. Microsoft’s Surface Book offers SSD storage options of 128 GB/256 GB/512 GB/1 TB. It also comes with a microSD slot. Rumors say a 1 TB storage system will be integrated in the MacBook Pro 2016, and the device will run on OS X El Capitan.

The new Microsoft tablet cum laptop hybrid bears an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP primary camera and will run on latest Windows 10. The MacBook Pro, however, isn’t expected to have remarkable cameras.

Although, the battery life of the MacBook Pro is unspecified, it’s expected that Apple will produce a battery better than the previous one. Microsoft’s Surface Book is slated to provide up to 12 hours of battery life.

Unlike the MacBook Pro, the Surface Book will have a detachable keyboard and a trackpad along with a Surface Pen stylus. The MacBook Pro will use Force Touch technology.
