Leading the nominees with 27 nods, HBO shows are dominating the 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards thanks to Francis McDorman-starring miniseries “Olive Kitteridge” and “Game of Thrones.” The fifth annual Critics’ Choice TV Awards were announced on Wednesday, May 6, featuring first time nominees and established series.

FX came in second with 17 nominations, with “Justified” leading the race with 5 nods, including Best Drama Series and Guest Performer in a Drama Series. Lead star Timothy Olyphant is up against “The Americans” star Matthey Rhys, “Rectify” Aden Young, “Better Call Saul” Bob Odenkirk, “Sons of Anarchy” Charlie Hunnam and “Bates Motel” Freddie Highmore for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

Walton Goggins is up for two nominations, Guest Performer in a Drama Series for his role as Venus Van Dam in “Sons of Anarchy” and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series as Boyd Crowder in “Justified.”

HBO’s “Olive Kitteridge” also scored five nominations including Best Limited Series, Best Actor in A Movie or Limited Series for Richard Jenkins and Best Actress for Frances McDormand. Veteran actor Bill Murray is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the series and is up against co-star Cory Michael Smith on the same category.

Joining the nominees from last year’s award are the freshman seasons of “Jane The Virgin,” “Transparent,” “You’re The Worst,” “Empire” and “Silicon Valley.” Now that “Breaking Bad” is out of the picture, the Best Drama Series Award is out for the taking with shows like “The Americans,” “Homeland,” “The Good Wife,” “Orange is the New Black” and “Empire” all vying for the award.

The Fox breakout hit also got another nomination for its lead star Taraji P. Henson for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Henson is up against Keri Russell (“The Americans”), Eva Green (“Penny Dreadful”), Vera Farmiga (“Bates Motel”), Viola Davis (“How To Get Away With Murder”) and Julianna Margulies (“The Good Wife”).

Presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, the 2015 Critics’ Choice TV Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton on May 31. The awards show will be will be telecast live at 8 P.M. ET on A&E.
