Novak Djokovic and his younger brother, Djordje Djokovic, will headline the men’s doubles event at the 2015 China Open. Novak and Djordje received wild card entries in the doubles main draw in this year’s edition of the tournament, which officially kicked off on Sept. 27.

“The (Djokovic) brothers would be partnered to play men’s doubles, which will certainly become a big attraction of the 2015 China Open,” a statement on the tournament’s website said.

Djordje has been competing in International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures tournaments and ATP Challenger events. He has competed in nine ITF and three Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger singles tournaments this season. The 20-year-old currently sits at 1490th in singles and 1742nd in doubles world rankings.

Novak, on the other hand, will be playing his first tournament since winning his second US Open title. Wrapping up the season as World No. 1, the elder Djokovic is also featured in the men's singles event, where he will be aiming to win a sixth China Open title. Joining him are some of the top ATP stars including Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Milos Raonic, who will be making his debut in the Beijing tournament.

In the women's singles event, the top players from Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) are also set to make an appearance in the China capital including reigning US Open champion Flavia Pennetta, Ana Ivanovic, Simona Halep, Caroline Wozniacki, Petra Kvitova, and two-time China Open champion Serena Williams. This year marks the sixth time that Williams will be competing in Beijing. Maria Sharapova, who is the defending champion, pulled out of the tournament due to a left forearm injury she sustained at Wuhan. The Russian player is replaced by Julia Gorges.

The 2015 China Open runs from Sept. 27 until Oct. 11, 2015. The main draw and qualifying round for WTA and ATP kicks off on Oct. 3.
