The 2015 Bahrain Grand Prix takes place from April 17 to April 19. This year marks the 11th time that Bahrain will host a Formula One, or F1, Grand Prix event.

The venue for the 2015 Bahrain Grand Prix is the Sakhir International Circuit. It measures 140,000 square metres and has 15 turns, as described on the event’s website. There will be a lot of overtaking opportunities with long straits at Turns 3, 13 and 15. Following a successful first day-night race last season, this year’s event will pursue the same format with the race starting at sunset and concluding under high-intensity lights.

Since its inception in 2004, only three drivers, namely Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, were able to compete in every Bahrain Grand Prix. The aforementioned F1 stars have all been successful at the Sakhir International Circuit, having had won the race. Alonso has the most number of wins with three (2005, 2006, and 2010). Massa won the Bahrain Grand Prix twice from 2007 to 2008. Button, on the other hand, claimed his Bahrain Grand Prix title in 2009.

American rapper Pit Bull will reportedly provide the entertainment during the race weekend. In addition to the musical acts, there are also prizes to be given away every 10 minutes for all Grand Stand ticket holders during the Qualifying Session and before the main race on Sunday.
