The 2015 Austrian Grand Prix is the eighth round of the current Formula One (F1) season. It re-emerged on the FIA F1 World Championship in 2014, which is the first time in the 11 seasons. It will take place at the picturesque Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria from June 19 to June 21, 2015.

The Red Bull Ring, which was reopened in 2011, is one of the most modern racing tracks in the world. The racing car drivers will contest over 71 laps in a racing circuit that is similar to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. It is anticipated that the racers' driving skills as well as their high-speed machinery will be crucial to success.

McLaren is the most successful F1 team in Austria. They have won more races than any other F1 outfit in the said Grand Prix event, their last victory came with retired British racer David Coulthard in 2001.

However, the Austrian Grand Prix has such great history and had been won by great drivers in the past.

Last year’s race was won by Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg, who started third on the grid. It will be interesting to see if Rosberg will be able to defend the title or if his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who has won four out the seven races, can win a maiden Austrian Grand Prix title. After the Austrian Grand Prix, the second in-season test of year will take place in Spielberg from June 23 to June 24, 2015.

Tyre Allocation

The surface of the track is very smooth, thus the P Pirelli Zero Yellow soft and Pirelli Zero Red supersoft tyres will again be used for this year’s Austrian Grand Prix, as stated on a statement on a press release on Pirelli’s official website. “Low grip and low abrasion” will be the challenges for the tyres that will be used in the race.
