2011 was a great, overly-fashionable year for Kate Middleton, and here are some of her most memorable looks.

Less than a year being the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has already propelled herself to the top tier of global fashion icons. Since her official debut to the public eye during the announcement of the royal engagement, Middleton has never left the eyes of fans and onlookers especially with her clothes.

That sapphire Issa London dress Kate wore for the event sold out almost immediately, and then she walked down the aisle in a laced Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown on the day of the Royal Wedding. This gown caused so much buzz that replicas were being made within hours after the worldwide telecast of the union.

The Duchess truly made a splash during her North American tour with husband, Prince William, in the variety of dresses she wore on the trip. The most memorable ones include that navy lace shift dress by Erdem, a yellow Primrose Jenny Packham dress, and a lavender ball gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen for the BAFTA for Brits Hollywood event.

When the Duchess returned to the United Kingdom, she wowed critics once more with a military-inspired navy and white Alexander McQueen ensemble when the Royal Couple greeted the troops. Not long ago, Middleton was the belle of the ball in a one-shoulder Jenny Packham gown, and showed off her toned arms in a Grecian-inspired Amanda Wakely bejeweled gown for a separate event.
