The Ice Bucket Challenge is aimed at raising awareness of - and money to fight - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more often known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. Reuters

Twenty-year-old Isabelle Roberts from Tipton, West Midlands, was rushed to the Russells Hall Hospital after dislocating her jaw when she screamed during the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Tuesday evening. The video showing her failed ice bucket challenge has gone viral and has been shared more than 1,000 times on Facebook.

Roberts had an agonising and horrifying experience after participating in the viral charity craze 'Ice Bucket Challenge. Roberts screamed so hard when her stepfather, John Kelley, poured freezing water over her that the bone structure of her face got damaged, which in turn dislocated her jaw. She screamed twice, and it is only when she walks up to the camera that the gravity of the situation becomes clear.

The young girl, who had her jaw repositioned at the Russells Hall Hospital, told Express and Star, "The water was so cold so I screamed, but as I did it my jaw just started to stick. I tried to close my mouth but it would not close, it was locked, and then I came to the realisation that something was up." The incident took place near her house in Wordsley.

Soon after that, Roberts mother and sister took the ice bucket challenge. However, she had to be taken to the hospital where two doctors managed to fix her jaw. The video clip has become quite a sensation with people calling it "very funny."

Roberts, who works at Swarovski and BHS in Merry Hill, had dropped in to celebrate her mother's birthday at their house before expressing her desire to participate in the ice bucket challenge.

Recalling the trauma, Roberts mother, Joanna Kelley, said that everybody at the waiting room in the hospital thought it was hilarious. "The two doctors who put it back in place had heard about her before they saw her, and then when we went up to X-ray they were already laughing about it as well," added Kelley.

Roberts has recovered completely now, but has been advised to survive only on liquid diet for two weeks. "The next morning when I woke up it was a bit sore but other than that it has been fine," said Roberts.

Calling the ice bucket challenge as "dangerous," the 20-year-old advised everybody wanting to participate in the ice bucket challenge to be careful.
