Upcoming Huawei Honor 4X smartphone has recently been spotted in TENAA, the FCC-equivalent of China. This handset bundles good specs with a budget friendly price tag.

Apparently, the Honor 4X is considered as Huawei's answer to competitor Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone. The device is dubbed as Honor Che1-CL20 in its home-country and will most probably be changed to Honor 4X upon releasing it globally. Furthermore, this handset comes with the much-required LTE support, according to Phone Arena.

Moving on to the key specifications, the Huawei Honor 4X will feature a 5.5-inch display complemented by 720p resolution. The device will be powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410) 64-bit processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and will be backed by a good 2 GB of RAM. Speaking of software, the phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Although there is no word on the internal storage capacity, the handset will come with expandable storage option via microSD card.

When it comes to camera configuration, the device will sport an impressive 13 MP primary camera unit and a 5 MP front-facing snapper for killer selfies. The Honor 4X smartphone will support FDD and TD LTE networks, along with TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, GSM and CDMA connections. As far as the price goes, the Huawei Honor 4X handset will reportedly cost CNY 800 in China that roughly translates to US$130, AU$148 and 101 euro.

The direct rival Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone, on the other hand, features a similar 5.5-inch display and 720p resolution. The handset is powered by a MediaTek processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. Other specs include a modest 8 GB of internal storage, 13 MP primary camera unit and a killer 3,200 mAh battery unit. This impressive specification list comes for just $130 equivalent. Hence the fiery Xiaomi handset has done well for itself in the home country and also in other markets. Plus, Xiaomi trumped none-other-than the South Korean conglomerate Samsung to become the largest device maker of 2014 in China, reports Android Central.

Can Huawei Honor 4X dethrone Xiaomi's Redmi 1S handset? After all, the Redmi handset is doing so well in emerging markets. Feel free to leave a comment.
