Despite the busy schedule with her "Stars Dance" tour, Selena Gomez is still working on her career as an actress. In 2011, it was announced that former Disney star, Selena Gomez, would play the part of Hannah Baker in Jay Asher's best-selling novel, "13 Reasons Why." This role will certainly be a far cry from Selena's bubbly personality in real life. For those who have yet to read the novel, a short synopsis is as follows (via Goodreads.com).

"Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier."

During a press conference in Milan, Gomez talked about the production on the film.

"We have something great in store for that. It is very powerful. We want to make sure we execute it perfectly before we release it. I believe many people can relate to it. We want to make sure we do everything right before we release it, otherwise it will not be good," stated Selena.

As of late, no announcement has been made as to who would be playing the lead protagonist opposite Selena Gomez, Clay Jensen. Earlier reports claimed that Logan Lerman had accepted the part, but no confirmation has been announced by the production studio. For now, fans are left to wonder who would be playing Clay Jensen.
