Android KitKat is not expected to arrive on all budget phones especially older models regardless of its compatibility to 512 MB RAM. However, there are several new models which runs the OS and do not slash someone's budget all throughout.

Motorola Smartphones

Motorola offers three smartphones upgradable to all Android KitKat versions tagged with reasonable prices.

1. Moto X is the flagship Android of Motorola sold at $348 packed with 4.7-inch AMOLED display, dual-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, a 10 MP primary camera, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and 2200 mAh battery.

2. Moto G is a mid-range smartphone from the Motorola which costs less than $200 depending on the variant. It is packed with 4.5-inch LCD display, quad-core processor, 1 GB RAM, a 5 MP rear camera and 2070 mAh battery.

3. For the cheapest Motorola smartphone, Moto E offers a decent package including 4.3-inch LCD display, dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, a 5 MP rear camera and 1980 mAh battery for $130 in Amazon.

These Motorola smartphones are eligible for Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4 KitKat update via OTA or Motorola Device Manager.

Samsung Budget Phones

If TouchWiz is preferred over Android smartphones, Samsung offers four new budget phones which run Android KitKat OS and supports dual-SIM capability expected to be released soon.

1. Galaxy Core 2 offers 4.5-inch of TFT display, quad-core processor, 768 MB RAM, a 5 MP rear camera, 4 GB internal storage and 2000 mAh battery.

2. Galaxy Star 2 sports 3.5-inch of TFT display, single-core processor, 512 MB RAM, a 2 MP camera, 4 GB internal storage and 1300 mAh battery. It is likely to be sold cheaper than Galaxy Core 2.

3. Galaxy Young 2 boasts 3.5-inch TFT display, single-core processor, 512 MB RAM, a 3.15 MP camera, 4 GB internal storage and 1300 mAh battery. Based on the specs, it is likely to be sold having the similar price tag with Galaxy Star 2.

4. Galaxy Ace 4 would be the fourth generation of its which offers 4.0-inch display, dual-core processor, 512 MB RAM, a 5 MP rear camera, 4 GB internal storage and 1500 mAh battery. Unlike the other three Samsung budget phones, Galaxy Ace 4 does not support dual-SIM capability.

1. Micromax Unite 2 with 4.7-inch IPS LCD display, quad-core CPU, a 5 MP rear camera and 4 GB internal storage.

2. Lava Iris 406Q with 4.0-inch LCD display, quad-core CPU, a 5 MP rear camera, dual-SIM support and 4 GB internal storage.

3. Xolo Q1000 Opus with 5.0-inch LCD display, quad-core CPU, a 5MP rear camera, dual-SIM support and 4 GB internal storage.

4. MIJUE M680 with 5.0-inch IPS qHD display, quad-core CPU, a 13 MP rear camera and 4 GB internal storage.

5. Elephone P8 with 5.7-inch FHD display, octa-core CPU, a 13 MP rear camera and 16 GB internal storage.
