I've already told you guys about the 10 Cool Google Secrets and Tricks for Better and Faster Search Results, but it's not over. I found 10 more amazing Google secrets and tricks. Check out the list below and impress your friends with your ninja-like search skills.

1. Search for Specific Types of Files - Use "filetype:" to search for specific file or document types like .pdf or .doc files. Type in the search bar your chosen search term and add "filetype:pdf" or "filetype:doc beside it. E.g.: " filetype:pdf" or " filetype:doc"

2. Search for Words that Appear Near Other Words - Use "around" to look for words that can be found near other words. E.g.: "marshmallows" AROUND "ice cream" or indicate the number of words that separate the two terms. E.g.: "marshmallows" AROUND (10) "ice cream"

3. Narrow Down Search Results - Use "or" to combine related searches and find specific results. E.g.: type in the search bar "FIFA OR Fédération Internationale de Football Association" and it will show the top sites for both terms, which saves energy and time.

4. Translations - Just type "translate to " E.g.: "translate guten morgen to English" and the result is "good morning." You can also do it the other way. E.g.: "translate good morning to German" and the result is "guten morgen."

5. Check Sport Scores and Schedules - Just type the name of the team or league into the search box and scores and schedules of your favorite NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB teams. STATS, Inc. provides all the sports data.

6. Definitions - Use "define:" and add the word that you want to find the meaning of. E.g.: "define: discombobulate" and then click on Search. You will find the result: /dɪskəmˈbɒbjʊleɪt/ disconcert or confuse (someone).

7. Narrow Image Results - Add this special URL parameter "&imgtype=face" to the end of your Google search URL (not on the Google search box, but the one with https://www.google.com/search?q= which can be found above the search box) and then click on Images tab to get images of faces without photos of objects. E.g.: Type "rose&imgtype=face" after the https://www.google.com/search?q= and click on Image search tab. Results would show pictures of people named rose, and not the rose flower.

8. Public Data - Type "unemployment rate" or "population" followed by the location. E.g.: type "unemployment rate UK" or "unemployment rate US" and a graph will be shown along with the unemployment rates. Unfortunately, this doesn't work on all locations.

9. Compare Items - Use "better than" E.g.: type (with quotes) "better than _keyword_" Results would show these:

  • Results 1 - 100 of about 550 English pages for " better than Digg"

10. Search for Local Film Showings and Movie Times - Type "films" or "movies" and add your postcode or zip code. For movie times, just type the word "movie" and your area to show various movie time schedules of different films. For a specific film, type in the film's name on the search box and your location. But, this doesn't work on all locations though, so check it first.

This list of 10 more amazing Google secrets and tricks for better and faster search results is really beneficial, especially for those who depend on research every day.
