We've all been taught that fish is good for us. Not only is it a good source of protein, vitamins and minerals, but it's also an excellent source of polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, which have been related to a significant number of health benefits.

The National Heart Foundation recommends Australians to consume at least two to three serves of fish every week. Regular consumption of fish can reduce the risk of a variety of diseases and disorders, including cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, type II diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, age-related macular degeneration, dementia and asthma.

Yet despite the significant health benefits of eating fish, many people are intimidated to cook fish at home.

Fish are pretty straightforward and versatile. The best way to reap the health benefits from fish is to bake or broil them instead of eating them fried, salted or dried, according to a research presented at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions.
