Chosen Newton, the one-month-old baby of footballer Cam Newton and his girlfriend Kai Proctor, can already walk, his dad claims. Cam, quarterback of Carolina Panthers, shared the unbelievable feat on Monday night with reporters at the Super Bowl.

Aware that his claim sounds Incredulous, Cam promised media men to bring Chosen with him, although he points out “I don’t think he could walk down the steps yet.” If true, the infant is a “chosen one” and really deserves the name instead of calling him Cam Jr which the athlete thinks would burden his son with public expectations, reports Mashable.

CBS Sports writes that if Cam’s team, the Panthers, would beat the Broncos on Sunday, sports fans would look forward to see Cam bring his one-month-old son to the games. “At this rate, he’ll probably be running by then,” the website speculates.

The standard, though, is that babies take their first steps at nine to 12 months, according to Babycenter. By 14 to 15 months, the toddlers could already walk, although the website assures parents that some babies do not walk until they reach 16 or 17 months. I

The normal progression is the baby could stand alone at 14 months, steadier walking at 15, could climb the stairs at 17, climb and kick at 18, jump at 25 or 26 months and be on the go when he reaches third birthday.

As for Newton’s claim, unless he brings Chosen and proves the toddler could walk at his age, many people will think he is just pulling their legs.
